Role Overview: Production Technician (Chemical)
As a Production Technician in our chemical manufacturing team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of batch chemical plants. Your responsibilities will include:
- Safety First: Demonstrate a deep understanding of basic chemical manufacturing processes while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Take the initiative to increase knowledge of products, processes, and equipment, including operating reactors, blenders, tank farms, and utilities.
- Operational Excellence: Work within the control room, interpret batch tickets, and communicate effectively with onboard technicians to ensure the smooth operation of reactors, blenders, and related equipment.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transfer raw materials and products, controlling the amount of waste generated and disposing of waste according to environmental requirements.
- Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks and servicing of the plant to uphold a high level of operational standards.
Requirements for Technicians
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Hold a High School, Nitec, Diploma in Chemical, or an equivalent qualification.
- Possess past experience as a Chemical Plant Operator, Production/Process Technician in a batch processing chemical plant.
- Have experience with ABB 800xA automation system or equivalent.
- Be familiar with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and have utilized safety data sheets, understanding chemical hazards.
- Have participated in Activity Based Risk Assessment.
- Be physically capable of handling, carrying, and charging 25KG powder raw materials.
- Hold a WSQ CERT Course certification for the company emergency response team (CERT).
- Have a forklift license and computer literacy.
